Christmas Card :: Christmas Tree Using SVG/SCAL2

Posted by on Oct 17, 2011 in Cards, featured, Holiday, SVG/SCAL/SCUT, Videos | 0 comments

Last semester in college, one of my classes was using Adobe Illustrator.  It’s a program that I had always wanted to learn but never could get the hang of it.  I know Photoshop well it always eluded me.  I was very excited to finally learn it and thought I would put it to good use.  I designed the SVG file in Illustrator and it includes the tree base, tree layer, garland, 2 different shaped ornaments, star, and three different size presents with ribbon and bows.

I  then imported the file into Sure Cuts A Lot 2.  If you don’t have Sure Cuts A Lot for use with your Cricut cutting machine, I have a link on the lower left side bar.  I have the project file set up for approximately an standard sized card.  I am offering it available for free for anyone that would like it.  I would appreciate it if you would subscribe to my YouTube and/or add yourself to my Google Friend Connect. You can find the files on the SVG/SCAL blog page to download along with my loafer file.

The paper used for this set is the My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found Christmas.

100 Subscribers on YouTube!! Giveaway

Posted by on Jul 4, 2010 in Giveaway, Videos | 0 comments

Finally, 100 subscribers on YouTube!  Over the last week or so, I got to 100 subscribers which is pretty cool.  Youtube doesn’t give out anything special for the milestone or anything, its just kind of a personal thing.  Anyway, I thought that it was high time to do a give away.  To qualify, you have to be a subscriber to my channel on youtube and post a comment in the comment section on the giveaway video.  Posting ends on Saturday 07/10 at 11:59 p.m. and I will draw the winner on 07/11.

Its not a huge amount of stuff or anything and I likely have some more items I will throw in but I hope you like them.  Check out the video below or click here to leave a comment to be included in the drawing.

my May ATC yourpaperpantry swap result

Posted by on May 18, 2010 in Swaps, Videos | 0 comments

Over the weekend I sent out my May ATC yourpaperpantry.ning.com swap cards. I was really happy that the host has already gotten them safe and sound and liked them. I, like I am sure so many of you out there (if your reading) are always unsure about what people are going to think about your art. Is it good enough? Did I do too much? Did I not do enough? Did I do it right? All things that run through my head when I send out my babies into the world. I hope my swap partners like the card. I really liked how they turned out. I figure if a pic speaks 1,000 words, a video should be way more. see below…

simple card using scrap

Posted by on May 4, 2010 in Cards, Videos | 0 comments

I just completed an order for a bunch of gift card holders and had all the left over strips from cutting out the paper along with some extra lollipop flowers and this is what I came up with. Unfortunately, my camera died before I could get a photograph afterwords but here is the video. It is actually my first real video where I make a card completely on camera minus some minor editing to get it within the you tube time limit. I really need to find some what to increase the clarity of the audio and the video. I am using a quite old minolta camera to film it. I really want to purchase a flip video camera but don’t want to spend on it just yet. They look so cute though.

I hope you enjoy.

breast cancer ribbon card with a gift and update

Posted by on May 3, 2010 in Cards, Life, Videos | 0 comments

I hope everyone had a wonderful National Scrapbooking Day. I spent the day with my husband as it is also his birthday and this year was the big 40 and guess what he wanted for his birthday? You would never guess, so I will spill the beans. Here is comes…. A compost bin. Crazy, eh? Although he probably would have not gotten it otherwise as it wasn’t your $40 composter. We have a large vegetable garden which I am sure you will see in my blog soon enough. Its not very pretty to look at currently as the spring growing season has really just started.

I also spent some time finishing some cards and putting together category file tabs and a display for the auxiliary (pink ladies) that sell my cards. They are at a large medical facility. The last box I sent they cards were swimming in. This display is perfect for the space they have. I have a few more cards to do for them and I will make a video of the display.

I did put together a really pretty card that I videoed. Its a breast cancer awareness ribbon pin card. A card with a little gift all in one. There are quite a few women at the facility that have been touched by breast cancer either themselves or family.

Anyway, a picture speaks louder than words. Here is a little video. I apologize greatly for the terrible lighting and audio. Lighting I think I have solved as I finally installed my clip lamp and purchased a Gorrilapod tabletop tripod with magnetic feet. Audio is the next to work on. I even figured out video editing. Check it out.
